I am very pleased to be part of an exhibition at EditionOne Gallery, 1036 Canyon Road, in Santa Fe, NM, entitled "Transitions". All of the images selected for the show illustrate this concept in some way. Its really quite amazing how many different ways there are to demonstrate a transition. The image I chose (see above) is illustrative of a metaphysical transition.
It was taken as a black and white stock shot, with my wife standing in the center of an extremely bright shaft of light shining through a dimly lit forest pathway in Upstate New York. Completely unplanned, one of the film frames contained a solarized dark image of Diane's body within the glow of the sunlight reflections. This was unusual by itself, but more so because this location was almost exactly where Diane's mother visualized her grandmother leaving her body when she passed away 44 years earlier.
